Violence against women in the family, despite being one of the most common forms of violence against women, is often hidden by virtue of the sanctity and privacy of the family. This type of violence has many and varied features, and in various dimensions, the potential and actual victims are killed. Violent behaviors in the
family environment, while introducing multiple physical and mental harm to direct victims, have adverse effects on family relationships and the character of other members of the family and the community. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the factors that cause such behaviors to prevent their initial and secondary committing. In a wide range of causes, legal causes affecting the occurrence of these behaviors play a significant role in this regard, the relevant provisions in the legal system of Iran are examined. In this regard, examining the above rules and regulations, along with conducting causative and subject-oriented research, will reveal the existing gaps and legal gaps, and therefore the legislative pathway to prevent and combat such behaviors is smoother and provide appropriate solutions.
